Emily Placita was born and raised in Macomb, MI. At the age of three, she began training with Dancer’s Edge Studio and has been competing in dance since the age of five. Emily has trained in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, hip-hop and ballet. She has won multiple UDA NDTC titles as a team member, as well as numerous individual first place and title awards. In addition, she and her teammates earned 10 gold medal championships at the USASF Dance Worlds.

Emily has worked as a teacher and choreographer for multiple solos, small groups, and teams, both nationally and internationally. Her routines have been nationally ranked and have won multiple state titles. In 2023, her choreography placed top 10 in the Medium Varsity Jazz Division. In 2024, she won a National Championship title in the JV Hip Hop Division as well as a third place finish in the Medium Varsity Pom Division.

Emily was also a member of The Ohio State University Dance Team and has had the honor of achieving seven UDA College National Championships from 2018-2022. It was at Ohio State University that she graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. She is now based out of Atlanta working as a sports performance coach for high school, collegiate and professional athletes of all sports, including dance. Emily is also continuing to pursue her dance career in Atlanta, training and taking classes from other national choreographers.

Emily has been a part of TRIBE 99 for five years. She is passionate about helping dancers reach their fullest potential while capitalizing on their authenticity as individuals. Her passion for dance continues to increase as she works with athletes of all ages and calibers.
